Course
in Brief |

addition to formal classroom training,

Before You Go
It is recommended that participants will
know the following before departure :
1. Pinyin pronunciation system
2. Counting numbers (e.g., 0 - 100) and
numbers used in currency denominations
3. Reading time and date
4. Naming common food items (e.g., fruits,
vegetables, meats, etc.)
5. Naming stores, shops, and other place
names
6. Naming a few of the most common signs
(e.g., metro, exit, entrance)
7. Naming common modes of transportation
(e.g., train, bus, car, metro, etc.)
8. Basic greetings & self-introduction
9. Basic conversational phrases and sentences
such as "Please speak more slowly.",
"Can you please
repeat that?", "How do you say
____ in Chinese?", "I need _______"
10. Basic question words and usage (e.g.
Where, What, When, Who, How, How much)
Should
you manage the above prior to departure,
you will find yourself understand and being
understood much more in China, and as a
result, become a effective Chinese learner.
